To adapt to a changing climate, the most meaningful solutions often begin in your neighborhood. Studies show that communities that are more socially connected are better prepared to face emergencies and extreme weather events. A resilient neighborhood welcomes people to check in with each other, providing neighbors to call, share resources, and offer help during a crisis. The Sustainable Neighborhoods Program supports opportunities for neighbors to connect and team up to strengthen our communities’ climate resilience and take action for climate change together. Topics that will be discussed include how to apply for a neighborhood microgrant, how to host a block party or a neighborhood clean-up, how to engage with city projects that promote sustainability.
